Beginning with the late 19th century, Nice has been one of the most visited sea side resorts in Europe. The majority of tourists came from Russia, the British Empire and the northern countries who came for the warm, fresh sea air. Today tourists all over the world come to Nice to enjoy some important tourist attractions such as La Promenade des Anglais, the beautiful Chagall and Matisse Museums, the Russian Orthodox Cathedral and the the pebbles beach.
