The House of Adam and Eve is not necessarily one of the top tourist attractions in Nice. Yet, located in the historical district of the city, the House of Adam and Eve calls forth the past architectural landscape of the area, being representative of the way private residences used to look like several centuries ago.
Dating back to the late 16th century, the building stands out in sharp relief by its exterior decorations (chiefly, bas-reliefs in cameo tones) and colors, brightening the surroundings with its optimistic architectural presence. The name of the building comes precisely from one of these bas-reliefs, which depicts a savage man and a savage woman widely construed as the primordial couple, though a local story goes the scene only closely renders the quarrelsome husband and wife who used to live in the building several centuries ago.
